Message	The reason I asked is that most of the Gen IV's are the same engine with a displacement change, or a different head etc. the Wikipedia article on the LS series states that the LS9 is a LS3 with a supercharger. Apperrantly sayinig "supercharged LS3" was too much more difficult than giving it a whole new designation. Although from the article you provided it sounds like it has different connecting rods and valves at the least, probably pistons and cams as well. I've only ask to satiate my recent obsession with LS-series powered FD's. GMperformanceparts.com right now doesn't sell a LS9 crate motor so I was curious what it would take to build a LS9 out of a LS3. The faster, more powerfull and probably cheaper route would probably be to just turbo the LS3.
